Founder & Bookkeeping Lead

After qualifying with the ICB, Sarah founded the business in 2010. She has grown the client base year on year, providing a full range of accounting services. She has developed an extensive knowledge of accounting software, and how to use these most effectively.
Tim Povey

Tim Povey

Lead Accountant

Tim trained with Deloittes, qualifying in 1996 as an ACA.  He has worked in industry until 2019, joining the business with his wealth of knowledge and experience.  As well as strong accounting skills, he is also highly skilled in IT systems.
Shaun Ellis

Accounting Associate

Shaun qualified with the ACCA in 1992 and has had a range of roles in industry.  He brings a vast array of experience having led finance teams.  He is able to ensure you have the right information and can use it to make the right decisions.

Sally joined the team in 2017, focusing on bookkeeping and payroll services.  She is very personable, hard working and a great addition to the team.

Coming from a range of backgrounds, Sarah leads the bookkeeping side with Sally, and Tim and Shaun lead on the accountancy advice.

Our Story

Sarah, a qualified bookkeeper and payroll manager, set up SA Ledgers in 2010 focusing on those areas.  She attracted a number of clients over a 9 year period, growing the practice.  She was joined by Sally in 2017 as the volume of work increased.  In 2019, her husband Tim joined the business to start the accountancy side. 
In 2020 against the backdrop of Covid, Shaun joined the practice as an accounting associate as demand for our accounting advice grew.  He has worked come from industry where he serviced as head of finance a variety of firms.

The aim has been to provide a highly personalised service at a competitive price.  We want to free you up to do what you do best safe in the knowledge that the rest is in safe hands.
